Do I need an account?
No. The app does not require an account, email, or any personal identification. Everything happens locally on your iPhone.
Where is my data stored?
All your data โ daily logs, check-ins, streaks, badge unlocks โ lives in your device's local storage. It is not sent to any server. If you delete the app, the data is removed.
Does the app read my Apple Health data?
Only if you grant permission. The app reads your daily step count to compute your Stride Score. It is read-only: we never write data to Apple Health. You can revoke permission at any time via iOS Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Health.
How do subscriptions work?
Pro is offered as a weekly, monthly, or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Payment is processed by Apple and managed through your Apple ID. You can cancel at any time via iOS Settings โ [your name] โ Subscriptions.
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Find "Dopamine Reset Pro" and tap it
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
You'll keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open the app โ Settings tab โ Premium โ tap "Restore Purchases". RevenueCat (our subscription provider) will verify your Apple ID and restore your active subscription.
The app shows wrong step counts compared to Apple Health. Why?
HealthKit returns raw step samples from every source (iPhone, Apple Watch, third-party fitness apps). To avoid double-counting, the app deduplicates by source and takes the highest single-source total per day. This usually matches Apple Health's reconciled daily total within a few hundred steps.
My streak reset but I completed a task yesterday.
The streak counts consecutive days with at least one completed task, ending yesterday. It updates at midnight local time. If you opened the app right at midnight or the date hasn't rolled over correctly, force-quit and reopen.
Can I export my data?
The local-only storage model means there's no server-side export. You can reset all data via Settings โ Reset App. If you delete the app, the data is removed.
Is this medical advice?
No. The app is a self-guided habit and focus tool. It is not therapy or a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are struggling with addiction, depression, or any serious health condition, please consult a licensed healthcare provider.
I want to delete my data.
Open the app โ Settings tab โ tap "Reset App" โ confirm. Or simply delete the app โ all data is removed from your device.
